College Football’s King of Gift Certificates
You should know that there is a massive rivalry against University of Alabama’s Nick Saban and Clemson’s Dabo Swinney. Their rivalry is not all about the competition on the sidelines, though.
The rivalry is also about the exchange of gift certificates.
These two players had a bet about the exchange of gift certificates. They bet on the 2016 Football National Championship, saying that who so ever wins the nationals will be treated by the loser to dinner at Boca Grande. The Boca Grande is a restaurant in Florida and is really good. Both Saban and Swinney decided that place because they both love the restaurant. Their families are also in love with the place because there are a lot of vacation homes in the area.
So now, the only thing left to know is who won the bet and who got to pay for dinner?
And the Crimson Tide won the nationals. So this means Swinney lost but he did follow through on the bet. But it was never how Saban expected it to be after all.
So there, both Swinney and Saban were in the place where they agreed on for the free dinner but something was not right. But then, Saban got mad at Swinney. The reason for the outburst was because Saban thought Swinney was going to be eating dinner with him. Swinney never prepared for the dinner because he never thought that the bet would come through. So he just handed out something to Saban and said that he did not want to owe him anything.
Swinney actually handed out a gift certificate with a writing on the back saying “See you in Tampa next year” and that was it.
The media blew up after knowing the that Swinney wrote that on the gift certificate of Saban. The social media went crazy over the two, both defending their beloved teams, it was very interesting. Will Swinney win this time and pull off the upset?
The tables have been turned and everything just sparked.
And with the score down to 35-31, the Crimson Tide suffer defeat but it never made Saban a bad guy, he was a true sportsman and returned the favor to Swinney. Saban then gave Swinney a gift certificate coming from the same restaurant that they pick during the 2016 national games.
They never shared a meal on their bets but both coaches never did fought against each other seriously, they even though about going for a third, just for fun.
Both teams are strong, each season they grow stronger and aim for being champion all the time.
